Our Work
About Us
Our portfolio spans branded documentaries, educational content, social storytelling, and more. We’ve told stories for brands like Amazon, CNN, Subaru, and The New York Times—stories that have reached millions of viewers around the world.
What We Do
We create story-first content for brands, media companies, and purpose-driven organizations.
-
From insight to execution, we bring content strategy, storytelling, and production together under one roof. We’re also proudly independent, with no layers between us and our partners. This allows us to work faster, think bigger, and collaborate more deeply without sacrificing craft.
DOCUMENTARY: Cinematic, character-driven stories grounded in lived experience.
BRAND SERIES: Doc-style storytelling for modern brands that spotlight ideas, leadership, and innovation.
BRANDED CONTENT: Narrative campaigns and lifestyle films created in partnership with brands and destinations.
EDITORIAL SERIES: Stories developed for media and cultural platforms driven by voice, curiosity, and purpose.
-
We take a journalistic approach across mediums and platforms, leading with curiosity, backed by data and editorial research, and shaped with intention.
Our team combines expertise frommedia, marketing, and documentary film to create video content that is not only beautiful, but built to resonate. Whether it’s a short doc, an editorial series, or a purpose-driven campaign, we combine editorial instincts with audience insights to create stories that move people and matter. -
Every project is grounded in strategy, research, and a genuine curiosity about the people we’re speaking to.
Our stories are cinematic, but never performative—clarity and connection always come first.
We're a nimble team by design, allowing us to stay hands-on and collaborative, from idea to delivery.
Meet the Team
Studio Koa was founded by Emmy-winning filmmakers Farhod Family and Andrew Lampard. Based in Boston and British Columbia.
-
FounderAndrew (Andy) is a filmmaker and storyteller shaped by his two childhood homes: Hawai‘i and British Columbia. He picked up a camera early in life and hasn’t put it down since. His work has taken him from remote villages in Kosovo to sacred valleys in Hawai‘i, crafting documentaries that explore everything from political upheaval to cultural practices like hula—moments where time seems to stand still.
His films have aired on network television and screened at festivals around the world, but at the heart of it all is a deep curiosity about people, place, and the stories that bind them. He seeks universal truths within the personal experiences of his subjects, creating cinematic narratives that blend documentary realism with emotional depth.
Before founding Studio Koa, Andrew worked as a journalist and producer with CNN’s Great Big Story, Reuters, and ABC News. He also shares his passion for storytelling as an educator, having taught graduate studies courses in documentary filmmaking, digital media, and journalism at Columbia University and New York University.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Film Studies and History from Queen’s University (Canada) and a Master of Science in Journalism and Digital Media from Columbia University. A Canadian-American dual citizen, he makes his home in Victoria, B.C., though his work frequently takes him to New York City and Honolulu.
